Kaethe has been taking drawing and painting classes through the Walnut Creek Civic Arts in Walnut Creek, CA for the past 10 years. She has studied with Northern California artists: Robert Chapla, Mark Roberts, Jody Mattison, Nancy Roberts, Peggi Kroll Roberts, Tim Horn and Stanley Goldstein.
"Painting is my obsession and it is what makes life exciting for me. The challenge is to translate what the excitement is all about to canvas. I don't always get there but the process itself is worthwhile. I lose sense of time and sometimes other priorities are set aside or forgotten. I have so much to learn through art and not enough time!"
Kaethe has received several awards from local art leagues over the past few years.
Most of Kaethe's work is from her own photographs. She especially enjoys pet portraits.
Kaethe lives in the East San Francisco Bay Area with her husband Scott and their yellow lab Moe.
